Here Comes Number Four!

Yesterday, I welcomed back some of my favorite clients for a beautiful maternity/family session. The lesson of this photoshoot? PIVOT! Allow me to explain…

Originally we were going to try to use the super cool and instagrammable sunflower field at the St. Luke’s Anderson campus as our canvas for the day, but when I arrived on the scene I realized the season had abruptly ended and all the flowers were face down and absolutely done blooming. Oh no! When the family arrived we used a corner of the field (sans-blooms) and then we relocated to a nearby spot that my clients were able to brainstorm last minute. It was SO great that they were willing to fly by the seats of our pants and take a chance on an unknown spot because now I think it should have been our first pick all along! Or maybe I’m just obsessed with arches, you’ll have to weigh in!

Soon this adorable family of three will be an even more adorable family of four! I can’t wait for them to experience this growth, and see them after little sister makes her appearance. I always walk away feeling so good from basking in the glow of their affection, and I wish them smooth sailing in a few months!

Farmhouse Fresh Newborn Goodness

When I pulled up to this family’s Hellertown farmhouse on this very warm Sunday I was struck by two things: how gorgeous the property was and how loud the cicadas were, especially since I live 20 minutes away and haven’t seen a single one in my own yard! Brood X must have gravitated to the farmlands of the Lehigh Valley. I quickly forgot about the bugs when I met this perfect family with their absurdly photogenic new son. You guys, I’ve never seen a baby work the camera so well so early in life! He was all pose and eyes for over an hour, and by the time he hinted at crankiness we had covered all the lovely corners of their nursery and property for photos. I had the best time capturing this tiny fellow and mom and dad’s absolute adoration and love. It’s truly an addicting type of session to do, and I hope baby A continues to give his parents good nights of sleep and all the smiles he can manage!
