I feel like I just returned from a dream or a past life. Genevieve and Lev’s wedding at Lacawac Sanctuary was such a breath of fresh air (literally) and everything about the event reminded me to circle back and appreciate the true important things in life.
I first met Genevieve ages ago in a similar camp-like setting when I was with one of my very best friends (her cousin!). All of these years later she reached out for her wedding photography and I was so excited to be chosen!
Nestled in the tall trees, near a gorgeous lodge by the lake, Genevieve and Lev spoke to one another of their meeting, love, and promises. Beloved family members and friends recited poetry, shared anecdotes, remembered dear relatives, and toasted the happy couple. I do not think there could have been a dry eye in the place, and I struggled to compose my shots at times as I was wiping mine!
Kids blew bubbles in the waning light, dogs frolicked around our legs. We took advantage of the sunset, and returned for drinks and incredible food. The dancing began and there was an abundance of cake. The evening did not end when I left, but the music went out on a high note with a limbo and laughter.
The most serendipitous convergence of paths brought us all to this time and place where we could celebrate these two happy people, and I’m thankful to have been a part of this day.
